Project Overview and Key Design Considerations

Zanini Auto Group, a Spanish multinational and global leader in automotive wheel covers, established this facility in Sanand to serve major Indian and international OEMs. The plant is designed to support high-precision plastic injection molding and specialized finishing processes. Our architectural strategy focused on a “clean-industrial” layout, essential for producing high-visibility exterior and interior functional trims.

The structural design accommodates large-tonnage injection molding machines, requiring reinforced, vibration-dampened flooring. We engineered the facility with a focus on a “one-way” material flow, from raw plastic resin intake to molding, chrome-plating or painting lines, and final assembly. The design also incorporates climate-controlled zones to ensure the integrity of technical plastics and high-quality finishes.

VMS Scope and Project Outcomes

VMS provided an integrated suite of consultancy services, including Master Planning, Architecture, and Structural Engineering. Our scope extended to the design of complex MEPF systems, with a particular focus on high-capacity cooling water systems for the molding process and specialized exhaust systems for the finishing areas.

The successful delivery of this facility enabled Zanini to localize its global expertise within the Sanand automotive cluster, providing “Just-In-Time” supply to nearby OEM plants. The plant stands as a testament to VMS’s ability to design high-precision facilities for global automotive leaders.
