Project Overview and Key Design Considerations

A high-profile joint venture between India’s Voltas and Turkey’s Arçelik (Beko), this facility was designed as a world-class hub for technology-driven home appliances. The initial phase focused on a high-capacity refrigerator manufacturing plant, inaugurated in 2020. The architectural and structural design had to account for a massive annual production target of 2.5 million units, requiring a layout that optimizes the flow from sheet metal fabrication and foaming processes to final assembly and rigorous quality testing.

As the venture evolved, the facility underwent a strategic expansion to integrate a dedicated Washing Machine production line within the existing building footprint. This required complex spatial reorganization and structural modifications to support new heavy-duty assembly conveyors and testing stations.

VMS Scope and Project Outcomes

Our multidisciplinary role involved detailed Master Planning, Structural Engineering for heavy industrial loads, and the design of complex MEPF systems. For the washing machine line expansion, VMS was specifically re-engaged to provide extended Construction Management Services, ensuring that the technical integration of new machinery met the joint venture’s stringent global standards.

This plant represents VMS’s ability to manage large-scale, multiphase projects that combine European technology with Indian manufacturing excellence.
