Project Overview and Key Design Considerations
Falcon Agrifriz Foods (formerly known as FMEL Agrifriz Foods), a prominent venture of the Falcon Group, has established India’s largest and most advanced frozen potato processing facility. Spanning a vast 25-acre (91,000 sqm) land parcel, the plant is a critical cornerstone of Gujarat’s emergence as a global hub for processed potatoes.
The architectural and structural design was engineered to support a massive 15 metric tons per hour French fry production line alongside a 3.5 tons per hour specialty line for wedges, nuggets, and hash browns. The plant’s structural framework was built to house heavy-duty automated washing, steam peeling, and optical sorting equipment, as well as a 350-meter-long integrated fry line.

VMS Scope and Project Outcomes
VMS provided a comprehensive multidisciplinary engineering suite, including Master Planning, Architectural, Structural, and MEPF services. Our scope was vital in designing the specialized industrial utilities required for high-volume potato processing, such as high-pressure steam distribution, advanced ammonia-based refrigeration systems for flash freezing, and a massive integrated cold storage infrastructure.
The facility includes advanced waste management systems that recycle 95% of processed water and convert potato waste into biogas and eco-friendly briquettes. VMS helped create a facility that supports over 4,000 contract farmers and sets a new global benchmark for the Indian food processing industry.
