Project Overview and Key Design Considerations

Transport Corporation of India (TCI) is India’s premier multimodal logistics and supply chain solutions provider. For their facility in Indore, the design focused on creating a high-efficiency transit hub that facilitates seamless cargo movement. The Indore facility was engineered to handle high-volume throughput, with a focus on “Fast-Track” logistics.

The architectural layout prioritizes Grade-A warehousing standards, featuring high-plinth levels and column-free internal spaces. Structural durability was a key priority, particularly for the heavy-duty flooring to withstand constant movement of heavy-load transport vehicles and forklifts. Optimized vehicular circulation is provided to minimize turnaround times in multimodal logistics with separate incoming and outgoing traffic.

VMS Scope and Project Outcomes

VMS provided a comprehensive range of Engineering and Design Services, specializing in the master planning and structural design of large-scale logistics infrastructure. Our scope included the design of reliable site utilities such as extensive storm water drainage networks, high-mast lighting for 24/7 operations, and specialized fire protection systems compliant with global safety norms.

We helped TCI across several locations from container cleaning units in Gandhidham to mega warehouses in West Bengal, as well as a scalable and resilient facility in Indore.
