Project Overview and Key Design Considerations
Grew Energy, the renewable energy venture of the Chiripal Group, is rapidly scaling its manufacturing footprint to become a significant player in India’s solar ecosystem. The project involves a multi-state, multi-phase development focused on backward integration from module assembly to cell manufacturing.
The initial phase at Dholi, Gujarat, established a 1 GW Solar PV module facility within a 17,000 sqm built-up area. Following this, the focus shifted to Dudu, Rajasthan, where Phase 1 and Phase 2 have successfully established a combined 2 GW manufacturing capacity. The Dudu site, located strategically on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway, utilizes a 95,000 sqm land parcel. Currently, Phase 3 is ongoing, which continues the group’s aggressive expansion strategy.

VMS Scope and Project Outcomes
VMS has been the dedicated engineering partner throughout this journey, providing Full Design and Engineering Services. Our scope includes Master Planning for the expansive Rajasthan site, Architectural design for the clean-room production blocks, and complex Structural Engineering for the PEB sheds.
A critical part of our ongoing role in Phase 3 is the engineering of the backward integration units, specifically the 1 GW Cell manufacturing line. Unlike module assembly, cell manufacturing involves intensive chemical processing and high-purity water requirements, necessitating specialized MEPF utilities, acid-resistant drainage, and advanced hazardous gas management systems.
