Project Overview and Key Design Considerations

This expansion project for India’s flexible packaging leader involved adding a specialized 2-tier Flexo Plate Unit within their existing global-scale plant. It was a challenge integrating a G+1 structure containing high-precision process areas on the ground floor and offices on top within an active raw material zone.

We designed three specialized, structurally independent equipment foundations to mitigate vibration transfer, which is critical for maintaining high-definition printing quality. The facility maintains strict hygiene and safety standards required for aseptic packaging, supporting Uflex’s massive 80,000 TPA global export capacity while serving diverse sectors from FMCG to pharmaceuticals.

VMS Scope and Project Outcomes

VMS provided specialized Architectural and Structural engineering services, building on our previous design of the original plant. Our scope included the detailed design of independent foundations for high-tech machinery and the development of a resilient G+1 building. We also engineered the Electrical, HVAC for office zones, and comprehensive Fire Protection systems for the new unit, ensuring full integration with the site’s existing utility infrastructure and safety protocols.

The successful delivery of this expansion enabled Uflex to enhance its localized manufacturing capabilities for flexo plate production without disrupting ongoing operations.
