It has been a while now that the surroundings of metropolitans in India have been acknowledged as a critical part to health, well being and sustainability of our societies. In the past few years, construction professionals and aspirants have noticed an evident intensification in the sustainability, health and well-being agendas by central as well as local authorities. In VMS, we strongly believe that we cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them. Our stand on sustainability leads us to a thought process where we, as a team are convinced that, we do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, but we borrow it from our future generations.
Many of us still think that Green Buildings are a big myth and the right way to deliver a particular construction project, be it industrial, residential or commercial is the conventional practices we have been following over the past years. Though there are consultants available in the construction sector who feel responsible towards environment and sustainability but then there is always a reluctance factor from the client to turn towards Green Building. The reason for it may be Neophobia or complex structures of Green Building certifications and processes. There are clients in the market who wants to go green but they are demotivated after learning about the complex and tiring processes of various Green Building Rating Systems. So what should be done in such a situations?
One of our projects in Sanand is an epitome of VMS’s initiative for sustainability and environment-friendly construction. Starting from the fundamental activities like regulatory compliance and planning for sustainable materials to architectural design, VMS has been able to explore different aspects of Green Building philosophies with remarkable excellence without any Green Building certifications.
With continuous coordination of architects, engineers and project managers, the firm has successfully contributed towards the green initiative and achieved better service efficiency and reduction in overall impact on environment. A unique and agile system of operations in VMS makes it possible to consider all the concerns and requirements of clients and deliver in the most prominent way with keeping all the statutory regulations compiled.
VMS incorporates Green Building aspects from the initiation stage of the project by developing eco-friendly layouts which offers better orientation and ventilation along with Vastu conformity. And just like that, every stage of project is planned in such a way that the end product is sustainable. We continuously strive for achieving at least Silver Ratings of IGBC (Indian Green Building Council) with or without the certification. Required suggestions for Green Buildings are continuously communicated by us to the client to achieve better efficiency and performance of the building at each stage of the project.
